Getting you back on track
after serious injury

About us

We are Serious Law LLP, an acclaimed UK law practice specialising in catastrophic injury cases. Ranked in the Legal 500, we focus on brain injury, spinal injury, cerebral palsy and other serious injuries.

Founded in 1989, our unique and highly innovative firm was one of the country’s first to deal exclusively with personal injury. Today, Serious Law LLP is established as a leading firm in handling high-value cases with a successful track record of numerous multi-million pound settlements.

To help our seriously injured clients and their families regain control of their lives, we provide an all-encompassing service that comprises expert legal assistance, together with a range of financial and after-care support, including the provision of rehabilitation, vocational training, and housing and transport adaptation.

Our firm is committed to protecting those who are incapacitated and amongst the most vulnerable in society – both during and beyond the settlement of their case. We have a thriving Court of Protection department, which manages our clients' affairs to ensure that they have a comfortable, secure and solvent future.

We maintain close relationships with national charities, spinal centres, medical and care experts, consultants, specialist barristers and other prominent catastrophic injury professionals, and we regularly achieve success in complex injury cases rejected by other firms.

Serious Law LLP has offices in Bolton & Cambridge and operates on a nationwide basis, rebuilding the lives of those affected by serious injury. Our practice is committed to excellence in all areas of client care and we are dedicated to the pursuit of professionalism and results.

Making a difference

Serious Law encourages and supports our colleagues in a wide range of pro bono work, community volunteering and charitable fundraising activities.

We also seek opportunities to support programmes that have lasting impact.

We have been patrons of Bolton Lads & Girls’ Club for over 20 years and were closely involved in raising the money to develop their current facilities We are proud that Bolton became the blueprint for the development of the OnSide Youth Zones which are opening across England, offering young people inspirational state-of-the-art facilities and helping them develop to their full potential.

We are proud sponsors of Back Up, a highly respected national charity that works to transform the lives of those with a spinal cord injury. The Back Up Mentoring Programme, which we support, matches those injured with mentors who have been through similar experiences.

Uniquely, the mentoring extends beyond the person injured to include their partner or children, all of whom may be struggling to adjust in different ways. The Back Up Mentoring Programme has already received acclaim from the International Spinal Cord Society.
