We are Serious Law LLP. We work exclusively with clients who have serious and catastrophic injuries. Over the last 33 years, we have dealt with some of the UK’s largest and most complex serious injury cases, achieving numerous multi-million pound settlements for our clients.
Serious Law is recommended in the Top Tier of the Legal 500 – "The team is a shining example of how difficult cases ought to be managed", and we are the firm of choice for many other legal professionals who recognise our depth of expertise in catastrophic cases. We are proud of our reputation for excellence, integrity and commitment to achieving the very best outcome for our clients. We are dedicated to helping people rebuild their lives.
We are a Lexcel accredited firm – "People take pride in the quality of service provided to clients, going the extra mile for clients and knowing the difference their work will make to client lives", and operate to a Silver Investor in People standard – "Partners manage in the modern and approachable style, and people appreciate the flexibility with which they are managed."
As we expand all our departments and grow our Cambridge office resources, we are looking to recruit a number of quality people. We have cutting edge technology and modern, spacious offices with our own parking. Salary packages will be set to match the experience and aspirations of the selected candidates. A lack of extensive personal injury experience will not be a bar for exceptional candidates, for some of our roles.
The knowledge and experience required for the roles will vary, but all our people must possess these qualities:
This is a real opportunity for growth for the right candidates who will work alongside very well-regarded colleagues and the best Counsel and experts in the country.
Sound experience in clinical negligence litigation and case administration are a prerequisite.
You will have 4+ years' experience in clinical negligence. Superb analytical, communication and client care skills are essential.
Significant experience of handling claims for seriously injured claimants, from client retention through to settlement is a necessity. Experience of handling your own cases to trial, JSM and approval is required. We would expect to see details of two referees, recognisable in the niche serious injury litigation profession, who can comment upon your abilities.
These are roles for solicitors who can show a number of years' experience in personal injury litigation and case handling. These positions will suit those looking to make the step up to more complex work, at a first-class firm.
We are keen to chat with current law graduates and those due to graduate next summer, who are interested in a career in catastrophic injury law. We offer an unrivalled graduate training programme for the right people. A number of our existing partners commenced their careers on the programme.
